Masters of Marriott Bonvoy has collaborated with The Crossing, headed by Chef Ankur Chakraborty, and will open the first international pop-up tour for the restaurant since its opening in January 2022. Their signature menu is expected to bring alive the modern rendition of Indian delicacies, showcased through exclusive dining experiences for guests and patrons across Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata.
Marriott International’s flagship initiative Masters of Marriott Bonvoy has hosted legendary Chefs such as Massimo Bottura from Osteria Francescana in April, the Sühring Twins from Bangkok in August and the recently concluded association with Chef Manish Mehrotra of Indian Accent in September.
Launched on January 20th, 2022, The Crossing has already grown to be one of the most sought-after restaurants in Dubai, which boasts of nominations and awards across categories, including, The Best New Restaurant by BBC Good Food, FACT Awards 2022 and World Culinary Awards, for Best New Restaurant in the Middle East. Celebrating Indian diversity in Dubai, the menu at The Crossing is a blend of lost cuisines and ingredients that create a new narrative where traditional, classic meets forgotten recipes. Flavours, influences, and recipes from across India have been married into the menu, to create gourmet delights that hold hints of nostalgia and closely guarded family recipes. The menu features fewer curries but relies more on shared plates, which are expressive of classic Indian comfort food that generations have grown up with.
The Masters of Marriot Bonvoy and The Crossings tie-up event in Mumbai was a one-of-a- kind experience for food enthusiasts of the city, to enjoy and engage in conversations with Chef Sunil Dat Rai, Head of Gastronomy – The Crossing, Dubai and Chef Rohit Chadha, Executive Sous Chef that delved into the intricacies of “blended” modern Indian cuisines which as the name suggests, is the very essence that defines the culinary identity and specialty of The Crossings and Saffron – the Indian specialty restaurant at JW Marriott Juhu.
Commenting on the partnership Jarret D’Abreo, Managing Director, Co-Founder, The Crossings said, “We would like to thank Marriott International for inviting us to showcase our culinary brilliance. Indian residents will have a chance to experience The Crossing for the first time, whose philosophy is rooted in blending cultures and shared food experiences in the subcontinent. We are confident that they will have an unforgettable dining experience, from start to finish.”
“With every chapter of Masters of Marriott Bonvoy, we further push the envelope in terms of bringing the most sought-after culinary experiences from across the globe. It brings us immense pleasure to have The Crossing team on board to recreate a range of fine dining experiences that evoke a deep sense of appreciation for cross cultural cuisines that are both novel and sublime. The partnership between celebrated & innovative culinary teams ensures that our guests and culinary aficionados will always have access to a variety of exclusive and memorable dining experiences, said Khushnooma Kapadia, Senior Area Director of Marketing – South Asia, Marriott International.
With timeless cooking techniques, the restaurant has creatively curated a special menu that will include some of its house specialties like Chenna Khandvi, Gunpowder Prawns, Ragi Koozh and a tempting dessert, Malaiyu. The pop-up will also offer a wide selection of beverages including mocktails, fine grapes and bubbles to pair with the dishes.
