Priyanka’s ‘Mumbai Nights’ mix was inspired by her favourite Indian flavors, which include garlic, turmeric, onion, cumin, bell pepper and carrot. “Mumbai is my home. I’ve spent at least 20 years of my life there, and it’s a very specific, alive, cosmopolitan, glamorous city,” says she about the name of the popcorn. “Mumbai has super humid nights. It gets really hot but it’s [also] really seductive.”
The city’s sultry, vibrant energy is what the spice mix aims to replicate. “You get a great finish with the red pepper and the black pepper that’s in there. But also, the turmeric is a wonderful addition,” she added.
Rob’s Backstage Popcorn was started by the Jonas Brothers’ former bassist’s dad, Rob Garbowsky. In 2011, Nick prepared his signature sweet-and-salty popcorn (it’s like a mix of movie theater popcorn and kettle corn) with him, and it quickly became a backstage staple on tour. Eventually, the brothers teamed up with Garbowsky to share his snack with the world and launched the brand.
