Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council in association with NSDC conducts the IndiaSkills 2021 National rounds in 5 skills

The winners will represent India on the global stage at WorldSkills 2022 – India had won 19 medals last time

Skills are essential to building the future of any nation. The Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC), in association with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), is entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the WorldSkills India competitions. And to reach this stage, the preliminary National rounds for the hospitality skills will be held at the Academy of Pastry & Culinary Arts in Gurugram, Delhi NCR; and the ones in the field of Restaurant and Hotel Reception will be held at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel. The National Competition will be held from January 6 to 10, 2022.

The winning competitors have already been through state-wise competitions and five regional rounds to qualify for the national level. Two winners from each skill category from the regional rounds will participate at the nationals in Gurugram from which two winners in each category will be selected. These finalists will receive free training in the industry to equip them for the WorldSkills competition. During the training, the best of three competitions will be conducted to select India’s nominee to the 2022 WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai, China.

It is only through a dedicated process of screening, selections, training and competitions across all States that the best talent has now emerged to perform at the national level. Such talent will then represent the country at different competitions to highlight India’s goal to be the skills capital of the world.

CEO of THSC, Rajan Bahadur says, “I believe that India has great talent, and this National level IndiaSkills competition will bring out the best that our country has to offer. At the last WorldSkills at Kazan in 2019, India had won 19 medals overall; and I am absolutely confident that this year as well the selected candidates will put their best foot forward for our country. We look forward to seeing our Indian youth climb greater heights with the right opportunities to showcase their skills. A big thanks to the entire team of trainers, Jury and organisers who have worked hard to make this a reality.”
