The Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), in association with HRANI, organized a landmark Stakeholders’ Meet on May 3, 2024, at the Radisson Collection Hotel & Spa, Srinagar. The event aimed to foster innovative partnerships, facilitate policy advocacy, and propel tourism development in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The event attracted key stakeholders from the tourism and hospitality industries. It served as a pivotal platform for initiating dialogue on employment, economic prosperity, and inclusive growth in Jammu & Kashmir. The event aimed to advance the region’s tourism sector and explore collaborative opportunities for comprehensive growth. In a significant step towards fostering collaboration, FHRAI and Hoteliers Club Srinagar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) focusing on policy advocacy, networking, and government liaison to drive tourism development in Jammu & Kashmir.
The presentation of the Hospitality Excellence Award by FHRAI to Mushtaq Chaya, CMD of Mushtaq Group of Hotels and Chairman of the Hoteliers Club Srinagar, was the standout moment of the event. Chaya was awarded for his outstanding contributions to the hospitality sector in Jammu & Kashmir. Chief Guest Vikramjit Singh presented the award to Mushtaq Chaya.
Pradeep Shetty, President of FHRAI, said, “FHRAI is dedicated to advocating for the growth and development of the tourism industry in Jammu & Kashmir. Our upcoming Hospitality Investors Summit in J&K will provide an excellent platform for leading brands and hospitality entrepreneurs to explore investable projects and learn about the government’s investor-friendly policies. We also invite all stakeholders to participate in the 54th Annual Convention of FHRAI, where we will continue our discussions on promoting tourism and fostering partnerships in the hospitality sector.”
Vikramjit Singh, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government of Jammu & Kashmir’s Industries & Commerce Department, was the Chief Guest for the event. Other notable dignitaries included Raja Yaqoob Farooq, Director of the Tourism Department, Government of J&K; Baldev Prakash, MD & CEO of J&K Bank; Mohammed A. Shah, Director of the Department of Handicrafts & Handlooms, Government of J&K; and several esteemed figures from the hotel and tourism sectors.
The Stakeholders’ Meet was a crucial step towards revitalising the tourism sector in Jammu & Kashmir, aiming to create new opportunities and partnerships that will drive sustainable growth and prosperity in the region.
