Sterling expands its wilderness footprint: New resort in Pench, Maharashtra

Opens Sterling Orient Woods on the Maharashtra side of the Pench Wildlife Sanctuary

Sterling Holiday Resorts opened its second resort in Pench, on the Maharashtra side of the Pench Wildlife Sanctuary. The resort is conveniently located just off NH44 and easily accessible from Nagpur.

The four-acre property is embellished by manicured lawns and flagstone paths and is a green haven, making it an ideal getaway from Nagpur. Located close to and midway between the Khawasa and Khursapar Gate, it is an ideal base for exploring the Pench Wildlife Sanctuary.

The resort has a choice of villa-style rooms and large luxury tents, all equipped with a sitout for guests to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings. The rooms give a rustic look from the outside, blending well with the surroundings, while they are equipped with all the modern amenities for a comfortable stay. Special features include open-to-sky showers, bathtubs with a separate shower area and premier rooms with a dedicated powder room within and a private lawn space outside.

Sigri is an open-format restaurant that provides a unique dining experience with beautiful views of the serene surroundings. One can enjoy popular favourites and delicious local dishes from Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The Machan provides a treetop dining experience ideal for enjoying a private celebration dinner or a special gathering while enjoying the views of the surroundings.

The resort also boasts a 4,500-square-foot banqueting space and a 20,000-square-foot lawn, ideal for small conferences, intimate gatherings, and celebrating social events and weddings. Guests can also unwind in the swimming pool or at The Spa after enjoying a morning safari.

“Sterling Orient Woods is our second resort at Pench. The rustic setting and the greenery make it ideal not only as a getaway for people from Nagpur but also to explore the Pench Wildlife Sanctuary while enjoying all creature comforts,” said Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director and CEO at Sterling Holiday Resorts.

“We are extremely pleased to collaborate with Sterling Holiday Resorts. Sterling has a strong presence in wildlife resorts and we are sure they will bring their expertise in hospitality in general and wildlife resorts in particular to make Sterling Orient Woods Pench a grand success,” said Afzal Mitha, MD of Orient Group of Hotels & Resorts.

The resort also has a holiday activity centre that provides options for indoor and outdoor games to bond and spend quality time with friends and family. Besides safaris, the resort also provides unique experiences like boating on the Khokha River, nature walks, and visits to a pottery village where guests can indulge in pottery-making.
