Marriott and Brigade Hotels seal a multi-deal contract to build six hotels in South India

The agreement will add 940 rooms across four key markets, expanding Marriott’s footprint in South India through five global brands.

Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited announced the signing of a landmark multi-deal agreement with Marriott International, Inc. to develop six hotels (940 rooms) across four key markets in the country. This significant portfolio expansion will feature properties under five globally recognized Marriott Bonvoy brands – The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard by Marriott and Fairfield by Marriott.

With this signing, Brigade reinforces its nearly 15-year partnership with Marriott, further strengthening a successful relationship. Along with Sheraton Grand Bangalore at Brigade Gateway and Four Points by Sheraton Kochi Infopark, this brings the total to eight hotels with Marriott, totaling 1,388 keys.

Ceremony marks milestone collaboration

The agreement was officially signed by Nirupa Shankar, Managing Director, Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited, and Rajeev Menon, President – Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International, in the presence of Jaishankar, Executive Chairman, Brigade Enterprises Limited, Vineet Verma, Director – Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited, Ranju Alex – Regional Vice President, South Asia, Marriott International and Kiran Andicot – Regional Vice President, Hotel Development South Asia, Marriott International to witness this exciting collaboration that will further expand the footprint of Marriott’s presence in Southern India.

Courtyard by Marriott Chennai World Trade Center

Anticipated to open in FY 2027, Courtyard by Marriott Chennai World Trade Center is expected to comprise 45 thoughtfully designed guestrooms and two dining outlets. Design plans include a modern, well equipped fitness centre and the brand’s timeless, classic style of inviting spaces and seamless service, allowing for comfort, convenience and connectivity.

Located within close proximity to the largest commercial office complexes within the city, the hotel will hold the additional benefit of being within 13 kms from the Chennai International Airport. The hotel will be part of a mixed-use development that includes the World Trade Center, a residential complex and retail outlets.

Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru International Airport

Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru International Airport is set to open in FY 2028, offering 224 rooms, including suites. Located near the airport with access to key business hubs, the hotel will feature conference and banquet spaces, two dining venues, a pool, fitness centre, and spa.

Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru Brigade Valencia

Slated to open in FY 2028, Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru Brigade Valencia will offer 151 rooms in South Bengaluru’s bustling IT hub. The hotel will feature open, light-filled public spaces, a three-meal restaurant, bar, swimming pool, fitness centre, and spa, with rooms designed for comfort and productivity.

The Ritz-Carlton Vaikom Island, Kerala

Opening in FY 2029, The Ritz-Carlton Vaikom Island, Kerala will offer a 70-villa retreat, each with a private pool, set amid the state’s tranquil backwaters. The resort will feature five dining venues, a spa, swimming pool, and fitness centre, with a focus on wellness, weddings, and leisure getaways. It will be reachable via a two-hour drive from Kochi Airport or a 40–60-minute speedboat ride from Bolgatty Jetty.

JW Marriott Chennai OMR

Opening in FY 2030, JW Marriott Chennai OMR will offer 250 guest rooms and suites, along with wellness amenities such as the Spa by JW, a swimming pool, and a fitness centre. Plans include a JW Garden, five dining venues, and 1,400 square metres of meeting and event space. Located on Old Mahabalipuram Road, Chennai’s IT corridor, the property will be about 45 minutes from Chennai International Airport and will cater to both leisure and business travellers.

Thiruvananthapuram Marriott Hotel World Trade Center

Marriott Hotels plans to open the Thiruvananthapuram Marriott Hotel World Trade Center as part of a mixed-use development in Kerala’s capital. The property will feature 200 rooms, five dining venues, the M Club, and around 1,115 square feet of meeting space. Amenities will include an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, and Quan Spa. Scheduled to open in FY 2030, it will be located about 20 minutes from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.
