Starwood to manage Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa

As the newest addition to the Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa in Dubai has been renamed ‘Al Maha, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa, Dubai.’ Emirates will retain ownership and Starwood will manage the property.

The 42-suite Al Maha is famous for its Bedlouin style tented suites, its location within the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve (DDCR) and its involvement in conservation-based hospitality – United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) identified it as a leading sustainable eco-tourism development earlier this year.

The Middle East is expected to see several new Starwood hotels under the Luxury Collection and St. Regis brands. On the cards are more properties in Dubai and also in Doha (Qatar), Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Aqaba (Jordan) and Manama (Bahrain).
