JW Marriott Kolkata has announced the appointment of Junaid Saifi as the new Information Technology (IT) Manager, furthering the hotel’s commitment to technological innovation and seamless operational excellence. With over five years of hands-on experience in IT operations and digital transformation, Junaid joins as one of the youngest multi-property IT Managers in the Marriott portfolio.
A strong academic and tech foundation
A postgraduate in Master of Computer Applications from KIIT University and a Bachelor’s from Agra University, Junaid has a solid academic background in tech. His problem-solving mindset and solution-driven approach have made him a rising name in hospitality IT.
A proven track record in hospitality tech
Previously, Junaid was the Multi-Property IT Manager for Four Points by Sheraton Srinagar and Sonmarg, where he led the launch of Four Points by Sheraton Sonmarg in 2024. His prior stints include roles at The Oberoi, Gurgaon, and Manappuram Finance, focusing on systems migration, cybersecurity, and enterprise-level tech operations.
Driving Marriott’s digital vision
In his new role, Junaid will lead the strategic execution of Marriott’s global IT platforms, manage property-specific operations, and spearhead cybersecurity and compliance standards. He will also drive digital transformation to boost guest experience and streamline backend operations.
Key technical achievements and proficiencies
Junaid has delivered numerous impactful projects such as VMware ESXi server setup, Opera PMS 5.6 upgrades, and Shiji Infrasys Cloud POS implementation. He is skilled in tools like Oracle Opera-PMS, VMware, Veeam, Active Directory, and more—bringing robust technical depth to the table.

In addition to managing IT systems and infrastructure, Junaid will be responsible for vendor relations, compliance, strategic planning, and training teams across departments to foster digital fluency.
