Crowne Plaza Muscat Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre has announced the appointment of Chandan Sharma as the Director of Sales & Marketing, strengthening the leadership team as the property continues to sharpen its commercial strategy and market positioning.

With over 16 years of experience in sales, marketing and commercial leadership within the luxury and upper-upscale hospitality sector, Chandan brings a proven track record of driving revenue growth, building high-performing teams and strengthening brand presence across competitive markets.

Career Highlights Across Global Brands

Prior to joining Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC, Chandan held senior leadership roles with some of the world’s most respected hospitality brands, including Shangri-La Hotels, Radisson Hotel Group, Marriott International (Sheraton), and The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts. His experience spans hotel sales strategy, MICE, catering and banquets, regional sales leadership, and integrated marketing operations.

Recognitions and Key Achievements

Throughout his career, Chandan has been recognized for delivering consistent year-on-year revenue growth, successfully exceeding budget targets across rooms and catering, and spearheading high-profile events and government delegations. His achievements include receiving the South Asia Travel Award (SATA) and leading landmark large-scale events, including a Guinness World Record–recognized initiative.

Role and Responsibilities at Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC

In his new role at Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC, Chandan will be responsible for driving the overall sales and marketing strategy, strengthening key partnerships, expanding MICE and corporate business, and positioning the property for sustained growth in both domestic and international markets.
