Radisson Hotel Group announces its first two hotels to achieve Verified Net Zero status, meeting the 2040 Net Zero Methodology requirements today. Located in Oslo and Manchester, these properties eliminate Scope 1 and 2 emissions, significantly reduce Scope 3 emissions, and offset the remaining footprint with Nature Based Solutions. This achievement is independently verified by TÜV Rheinland.
The former Park Inn by Radisson Manchester City Centre has been renovated and relaunched as Radisson Hotel Manchester City Centre, A Verified Net Zero Hotel, completing its transition on 19th May 2025. Similarly, the Park Inn by Radisson Oslo City Centre will become Radisson RED Oslo City Centre, A Verified Net Zero Hotel, opening in early July 2025.
Comprehensive Net Zero approach across all carbon emission scopes
The Verified Net Zero program covers carbon emissions from energy use (Scopes 1 & 2 as defined by the GHG Protocol) as well as the hotel’s operational and supply chain footprint (Scope 3). Key initiatives include:
- Use of 100% renewable energy through electrification and/or renewable energy purchase for heating, cooling, hot water, cooking, and spa/pool facilities.
- Overhauling operations to minimize waste.
- Re-evaluating supply chains, especially Food & Beverage and hotel-related transportation, to reduce emissions.
Remaining emissions are compensated with Nature Based carbon credits via a partnership with Agreena, Europe’s largest soil carbon program supporting over 2,300 farmers to regenerate more than 4.5 million hectares of farmland.

Following its refurbishment, Radisson Hotel Manchester City Centre, A Verified Net Zero Hotel, offers a modern hospitality experience steps away from AO Arena and Manchester Victoria train station.
With 252 Scandinavian-inspired rooms and suites featuring neutral tones and natural elements, the hotel fosters wellbeing and balance. Amenities include a welcoming bar, restaurant, outdoor terrace, spa with heated indoor pool, sauna, steam room, gym, and event facilities for up to 220 attendees.
