India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has appointed Mugdha Sinha, IAS (1999 batch Rajasthan cadre), as its new Managing Director. With over two decades of expertise in governance and administration, Sinha is known for her visionary leadership and dynamic approach, making her the ideal choice to guide ITDC into its next phase of transformation.
A Proven Leader with Extensive Experience
Sinha, holding the rank of Additional Secretary, brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles, including her impactful tenure as the Director General of Tourism at the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. In this capacity, she played a pivotal role in shaping national tourism policies, particularly in the fields of innovation and big data.
Her time as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, where she spearheaded the GLAM division, further enriched her expertise in promoting India’s cultural heritage while enhancing its tourism development.

In her new role, Sinha will oversee a wide range of ITDC’s operations, including the renowned Ashok Group of Hotels, Ashok Events, Ashok Travels & Tours, Ashok Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Management (AIH&TM), Ashok International Trade (Duty-Free Shops), Catering Units, and Ashok Consultancy & Engineering Services. Her leadership will guide these diverse sectors as they align with the evolving needs of the tourism and hospitality industries.
