The Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) has successfully concluded its flagship women empowerment initiative, announced during its 10th anniversary on 31st August 2024. The program, aimed at skilling and placing 150 women in the tourism and hospitality sector, has now been fully implemented.
All 150 candidates have been trained and placed across prestigious hospitality establishments, including Hilton Hotels, The Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, Deltin Casino & Resorts, Raffles Udaipur, Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore, and other leading hospitality brands.
A Vision Realized, a Future Reimagined
Following the overwhelming success of the inaugural batches, THSC announces the expansion of this initiative for 2025. The program will now scale up to train 300 more women, reaffirming THSC’s long-term commitment to gender inclusivity and skill-based empowerment in the tourism and hospitality ecosystem.
Bridging the Gender Gap in Hospitality
This initiative is a testament to THSC’s continued mission to bridge the gender gap in a sector poised for significant growth. By offering dedicated training programs for job roles such as Guest Service Associate – Housekeeping, Front Office, and Food & Beverage Service, the program ensures that women not only enter the workforce but do so with confidence and competence.
In addition to technical training, participants also underwent intensive soft skills development covering workplace communication, teamwork, and etiquette—ensuring they are holistically prepared for real-world job environments.
Empowering Women for a Progressive Industry
“Placing 150 women across India’s top hospitality brands is a proud milestone for us,” said Rajan Bahadur, CEO, THSC. “This initiative goes beyond job creation—it represents transformation, empowerment, and the promise of a more inclusive workforce. With the support of our board members, we are now focused on scaling this impact and training 300 more women this year.”
Jyoti Mayal, Chairperson, THSC, shared her thoughts: “Empowering women through skill development is not just a mission—it is a movement toward creating a more equitable and progressive industry. I am proud of THSC’s dedication to creating real opportunities for women, and this initiative stands as a shining example of how skill can truly change lives. We are committed to expanding this impact and setting new benchmarks in inclusive growth.”
