Top wedding destinations: Udaipur and Goa lead the way
Since India is known for its rich heritage and culture, couples are redefining their choice of wedding destinations for unique experiences. Out of all, Udaipur and Goa remain the most sought-after wedding destinations in India as nearly 30% of couples prefer Udaipur to engage in The Royal Affair, followed by 25% preferring to plan a wedding beachside, exchanging vows under the majestic colours of sunset.
Emerging wedding destinations: Mountains and Tier-2 cities gain traction
Besides this, mountain and Tier-2 city weddings are also gaining traction as the survey unveils that 15% of couples who prefer a calm and peaceful bliss choose a mountain retreat in Himachal Pradesh and the other 15% explore hidden gems in a Tier-2 and Tier 3 city, followed by Kerala’s Backwater Romance and an Exotic Escape in Andaman & Nicobar.

Unsurprisingly, the wedding venue takes the biggest share i.e. 40% of their budget. On the other hand, 25% of the budget is allocated to catering, followed by 20% to grand decor and floral arrangements and 15% to others including photography, entertainment, wedding outfits and jewellery.
Ideal wedding budget: Mid-range spending dominates
For an ideal wedding budget range, The Wedding Company unveils that 35% of Indian couples spend ₹10-25 lakh, followed by 25% spending ₹25–50 lakh while 20% who consider a budget of either below ₹10 lakh or above ₹50 lakh. The insights of the survey showcase that mid-range budgets (₹10-50 lakh) dominate ideal wedding budgeting, with a rising trend toward luxury weddings.
Wedding planning preferences: Professional planners vs DIY approaches
To plan an ideal dream destination wedding, 45% of couples prefer to hire a professional wedding planner to ensure a stress-free and seamless wedding planning experience. However, around 40% still prefer to have a mix of professional planning and family involvement to ensure the rituals and ceremonies are on point while 15% prefer a DIY and family-led planning to give a personal touch to each ritual.
Latest wedding trends: Micro weddings, tech, and sustainability

As couples prefer to invite fewer guests, around 30% of couples indulge in micro weddings to have bigger experiences.
