The 160-key Taj Chikkamagaluru is spread across 25 acres and surrounded by coffee estates and panoramic views of the Mullayanagiri Peak

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) announced the signing of a Taj-branded hotel in Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka. The hotel is a greenfield project.

Speaking on the occasion, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Development at IHCL, stated, “With its lush rainforests, coffee estates, and easy access from key cities, Chikkamagaluru can be positioned as a world-class destination, aligning with IHCL’s strategy of putting India’s lesser-known leisure locations on the global tourism map. We are delighted to partner with Arnaytive Resorts for this project.”

Spread across 25 acres, the 160-key Taj Chikkamagaluru is surrounded by coffee estates and panoramic views of the Mullayanagiri Peak. A 20-minute drive from the city centre, the hotel will offer an all-day dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant, a bar, and a poolside bar. It will feature two swimming pools, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, J Wellness Circle spa, a kids’ club, and a library. The hotel will also cater extensively to MICE travellers with large banqueting facilities of over 5,000 square feet, including meeting rooms and a pre-function area.

VP Kiran, Co-founder at Arnaytive Resorts, said, “We are excited to partner with IHCL to bring the Taj brand to Chikkamagaluru. This market, with its untapped potential, will serve as a picturesque getaway, complemented by Taj’s signature services.”

Nestled in the lap of the Western Ghats, Chikkamagaluru is a destination of captivating natural beauty, famed for its coffee plantations, misty hills, and adventure trekking trails. The region also boasts stunning waterfalls and is home to the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary. With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have 24 hotels in Karnataka, including nine under development.
