Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield appointed Chef Mohan Sawant as the new Executive Sous Chef. In his career spanning 15 years, Chef Mohan has served several top-tier hospitality brands, including Taj The Trees in Vikhroli, Mumbai, and Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa in Nashik. He started his career as a Commis Chef at The Park Hotel, Mumbai, and then charted his way to become Demi Chef de Partie at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai in 2011. Before joining Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield, Chef Sawant served as a Sous Chef at the Grand Hyatt.
Specialising in Western, Italian, and fusion cuisine, Chef Mohan has a unique ability to blend different culinary traditions while keeping taste and authenticity in mind. In his previous roles, he has demonstrated outstanding leadership in both pre-opening and post-opening phases, menu creation, food cost management, and staff training. His dedication to excellence has earned him prestigious awards, including the prestigious ‘Times Food Award’ for the Best Italian Restaurant in Premium Dining.
At Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield, Chef Mohan will oversee the kitchen operations for the hotel’s diverse dining outlets. His focus will be on elevating the culinary experiences offered to guests by introducing innovative menus, maintaining high standards of quality, and fostering a strong team environment. Known for his ability to manage complex kitchen operations with precision, Chef Mohan is expected to bring fresh energy and creativity to the hotel’s culinary offerings.
