Amid lockdown, while the hotels are ensuring to deliver their signature dishes at the doorsteps of the guests, social media platform Instagram has now made the food order process simpler for customers with its brand new feature.
Facebook-owned photo and video-sharing app Instagram has rolled out a new feature that allows users to place food order through the app. Insta has introduced this feature which is also called as ‘Action button’, to support restaurants and local businesses amid lockdown.
How it works?
Instagram’s new feature i.e Action Button will now be added to a restaurant’s profile, or even a food order sticker could be added to their Instagram stories. With just a simple tap on the button, customers will now be able to order food through the restaurant’s website.
The Action button feature was first rolled out in the US and Canada to help food outlets struggling during the pandemic. However, now it has been expanded to the UK as part of a worldwide rollout. “For many businesses right now, every sale helps. We’ll continue to work on features that make it easier to support the small businesses you care about,” the social media platform said in a statement.
