Oakwood Premier Prestige is hosting a 10-day Kolhapuri Food Festival from their fine-dine restaurant Soul City.
The 10-day food festival in Soul City is curated by guest Chef Dev Kasalkar along with Executive Chef Altamsh Patel. The duo are serving a traditional feast of Kolhapuri dishes for Bangaloreans.
Known for its temples and pilgrimage sites, the beautiful city of Kolhapur serves some of the best non veg dishes in the whole of Maharashtra. From Tambada and Pandhara Rassa, Bharla Wange, Mutton Kharda, Chicken Lonche for the non-vegetarians to really unique chutneys and masalas to the popular Sol Kadhi, Khuska Pulao, Ghavachi Huggi, Dakkhani missal and Pithle for the vegetarians. There is a world of dishes to be discovered.
Commenting on the festival, Chef Altamsh Patel, Executive Chef, Oakwood Premier Prestige said “Everyone in today’s world is talking about bringing International cuisine to our country. Being young chefs, I and Chef Dev feel it’s our responsibility to promote authentic local cuisines as well which people are slowly forgetting. This also gives a platform to chefs from different parts of the country to showcase their regional specialties and helps in cultural bonding”.
Chef Dev Kasalkar feels that “The Bangalore crowd is very cosmopolitan, much like Mumbai. People here understand and appreciate cuisines, they’re open to experimenting. I’m sure Kolhapuri dishes would be liked here.”
