Nestled away from the city’s hustle and bustle, Praana Experience is a pet-friendly and sustainably built beach homestay located in Byndoor, in the Udupi District of Karnataka. Co-founded by husband-wife duo and adventure explorers Priyanka Jena and Tanveer Taj, Praana was built, quite literally, from scratch on a piece of land that they found off the beautiful coast of Karnataka.
Praana is truly a pet parent’s paradise, as you can leave your furry babies completely off-leash at all times without worrying. The two-acre space has ample area to for pets to roam and run, as it is fully compounded. The adjoining private beach, too, is perfect, as there are no aggressive beach dogs. The beach is flat for 500 metres with a gradual increase in depth, making it safe for both humans and dogs. The guests can use the common kitchen premises to cook special meals for their dogs as per their choice or order fresh meals from the pet menu.
Priyanka and Tanveer have turned this space into a homestay with five beautiful guest rooms in two cottages – The Artist Cottage and The Beach Cottage – each different in terms of their view and decor.
Artist Cottage, as its name suggests, is a bit artsy, with an open-roof bathroom surrounded by trees. The Beach Cottage is a beautiful standalone cottage, perfect for people with pets. The cottage provides stunning views of the beach and has a private front yard as well. The decor is boho chic; it is cosy and private as it is tucked away in a nook in the farthest part of the property.
