The Leela Mumbai organises Rajasthani Food Festival at Jamavar

Guests visiting The Leela Mumbai can embark on a royal culinary journey as the hotel introduces an exclusive Rajasthani Food Festival at Jamavar, its award-winning signature Indian restaurant. The regal spread will feature a variety of Rajasthani delicacies.

Till 31st July, 2017, guests can feast on appetisers like Paneer Ke Sooley, Besan Ka Chilla, Ajmeri Kadhi Kachori, Maans Ke Sooley, Chittor ke Mashula to name a few. They can also take their pick from an array of main course dishes like Bharwaan Gucchi Kesari (Handpicked morel stuffed with caraway seed, spiced milk cake, simmered in saffron gravy), Sangri ke Kofte, Pithod Ki Subzi, Bhindi Jaipuri, Ker Sangri Dak, Murgh Ka Mokul, Laal Maans, Murgh Ka Soweta, Safed Maans, Jungli Maans, all-time favourite Dal Baati Churma and much more.

The specially crafted menu by the hotel’s corporate chef Surendra Mohan also features traditional rice preparations like Gatta Pulao and Maans Ka Pulao. The meal can be complemented with the classic Rajasthani Kadhi or Daal Pancharatni and accompaniments like Kaleji Raita, Sogra, Bikaneri Parantha, Daal ki churi ka Parantha. Desserts like Malai Ghewar and Malpua with Rabri can be the right end to the meal. Most of the produce, like the mutton and mathania chillies, have been procured from Rajasthan to lend a taste of authenticity to the dishes.

Talking about the festival, Chef Mohan said, “While Rajasthani food is usually fiery, we have toned it down a little to suit the palates of our international guests who are curious about India’s regional cuisines. Also, rather than just providing a few dishes from the state, we have provided a comprehensive overview of some signature dishes from each region, so that local diners as well as global travellers can appreciate the culinary marvels that India has to offer.”
