Tourism Minister of Uttarakhand, Satpal Maharaj has urged the Central Government to do an extensive publicity of the tourist places of Uttarakhand and help the state government to improve the system of connectivity, telecommunication and internet etc., in remote areas of the state.
In a virtual meeting with tourism ministers of all states headed by Union Tourism and Culture Minister Prahlad Patel, Satpal Maharaj also discussed the measures being taken to revive tourism in the state. This video conference was called by the Union Tourism Ministry to consider further strategies to bring tourism back on track after the Corona transition.
The Tourism Ministers of all the states participated in the meeting and gave their views on the future strategy to make up for the loss of tourism during the Corona period. In order to restore tourism in Uttarakhand, the State Tourism Minister said that there is huge potential for tourism in Uttarakhand.
Expecting cooperation from the Government of India to improve the system of connectivity, telecommunication and internet etc., in remote areas of Uttarakhand, he said that if we could do this, then people of rural areas can avail the government schemes online.
Maharaj said that the Central Government should also help in developing the tourism spots in the state widely. He said that the iconic site of Uttarakhand in which the Navagraha circuit has been built should also be widely publicized. This will benefit Uttarakhand. There is a large forest dominated area inside the state, so there is a huge potential for eco-tourism here.
During video conferencing, Satpal Maharaj said that people still have religious faith in the Bugyalas of Uttarakhand. Commercial activities have been stopped, but people who come there to worship Aanchari, fairies and deities. All this is still valid under religious belief. Referring to the divine circuit, Maharaj said that there are places in Garhwal and Kumaon region of Uttarakhand where people can worship and worship Bhagwati.
He informed that in the coming time, the tourism department of the state is going to build a circuit where Shakta and Vaishno. At the same time, we are also promoting Himalayan immunity-boosting food. Satpal Maharaj told during the webinar that his government has prepared menus for Himalayan immunity-boosting food in all categories of hotels, now everyone can enjoy Garhwali and Kumaoni food in these hotels. He said that people can come here and enjoy river rafting as well as before.
“We have started Tribal Tourism. Activities have been started by advancing the iconic temples and tourist places there, we want the traveler of India to reach there. But for this, we have to give exemption in the inner line, then we will have to impress somewhere. If this happens, then people will be able to see the Shivalinga inside the Niti Valley where Timbersain Mahadev is built.” said Satpal Maharaj.
While giving the information on the development work, Tourism Minister, Satpal Maharaj said that work is going on for the construction of Mahabharata Circuit, Ramayana Circuit and revival of Sita Mata Temple inside our state.
