4,000 people from Uttarakhand to be upskilled in hospitality

Uttarakhand Tourism Signs MoU with THSC (Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council) to enhance tourism industry by upskilling and reskilling stakeholders

The MoU, aimed to upskill and reskill 4,000 people from the state, will provide training to eatery owners, guest house caretakers, tour drivers on the Chardham route along with heritage tour and nature guides. 

The program will focus on improving the tourism and hospitality aspect with addition of topics such as digital and financial literacy, health and hygiene, safety and security, and entrepreneurship development. It will be delivered in offline mode across nine unique districts which attracts maximum religious, leisure, eco and adventure tourism. 

Sachin Kurve, Secretary of Tourism, Govt of Uttarakhand & CEO, UTDB (Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board) congratulated both UTDB & THSC team on signing this agreement, which will help create avenues for entrepreneurs and reduce migration from the state. THSC, established in 2014, is an apex body for vocational education and skill development in India focusing on tourism and hospitality. Since its inception in 2014, THSC has successfully certified over 11 lakh youth.
