Hotel transaction volumes in India in H1 2023 stands at USD 175 million: JLL

The JLL Hotels and Hospitality Forum – 2023, hosted at the JLL Gurgaon office at DLF Cyber Park, had a distinctive guest list with mix of investors including private equity player, real estate developers, Airport and hotel operators.

The event comprised of a brief presentation by JLL on the hospitality sector. It started with a segment on Asia Pacific hotel market performance and investment trends conducted by Nihat Ercan (CEO, JLL Hotels and Hospitality APAC) and Xander Nijnens (Senior MD, Hotel Advisory & Asset Management APAC). Followed by an India level piece on investment and development activity by Jaideep Dang (Managing Director, JLL Hotels and Hospitality Group India).

They also showcased JLL’s capabilities in terms of sustainability in the hospitality sector with segment on the same by Umit Bhatia (Sustainability Client Solutions Director, West Asia).

The event also included the launch of JLL’s Hotel Investment Trends – H1 2023 report. According to the report, the hospitality sector in India has experienced a significant rebound in hotel investment volumes, according to the latest data from JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group. In 2022, the sector recorded a total deal volume of USD 73 million, marking a substantial increase compared to the previous two pandemic years. This growth trend has continued in H1 2023, with hotel transaction volumes standing at USD 175 million.
