All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s College organises Atithya 2017

Pune’s All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society’s College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (AISSMSCHMCT) is organizing an inter-collegiate competition. The three-day event is called ‘Atithya 2017 – A Reflection of Hospitality’.

The event, which will begin on 1 February, 2017, aims to provide a platform for young students to showcase their creativity in core hospitality operations as they compete for 25 trophies. It will see the participation of 30 colleges across India, including cities like Bangalore, New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.

AISSMSCHMCT’s Principal Dr Sonali Jadhav believes that educators need to play a lead role in shaping the future of the incumbent hospitality workforce. She added that Atithya 2017 has crafted a host of challenging and exciting competitions, and it is heartening to see students from various colleges come together to participate in the event.

The competitions are divided into four segments – culinary, F&B service, rooms division and team contests. Each will be judged by a jury comprising industry experts. The grand finale will be held in the evening that commences with an award ceremony followed by Anglo Indian style gala dinner titled ‘1947 – A Food Story’. Around 1,000 guests comprising hotel academia and industry people are expected to attend the event.
