The Consul General of Japan in Mumbai and Harry Hakuei Kosato, Founder, Sushi and More, Kikkoman India Representative and Japanese Cuisine Goodwill Ambassador initiated the launch of a series of events to promote Japanese Sanuki Udon Noodles at a private dinner at the official residence of the Consulate-General of Japan in Mumbai.
The launch dinner was attended by chefs, restaurateurs and F&B professionals who were treated to a five-course menu.

Udon noodle, one of Japanese staple foods, is made of wheat, salt, and water, thereby making it purely vegetarian. Over 70% of Udon noodles in Japan are of the Sanuki variety. This unique promotion was in collaboration with Ishimaru Seimen, the largest producer of Sanuki Udon in Japan.
In his welcome speech, Kaneko Toshihiro, Deputy Consul General of Japan in Mumbai, said, “Ishimaru Foods & Noodles have succeeded in developing a market in the United States and served at a prestigious Japanese restaurant in Manhattan. Interestingly, the most favoured Udon noodle menu among people of the world is Udon noodles with curry soup.”
