Hyatt’s approach towards sustainability has always been grounded in listening to what its guests expect, and innovating along the way to meet their expectations. Hyatt Regency Amritsar has adhered to this ethos by adopting sustainable initiatives that can make a positive impact on guests and the communities in which it operates.
Kamaljit Singh, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Amritsar tells Hotelier India how the hotel continues to offer differentiated green experiences to cater to the growing demand of eco-conscious travellers. This includes digitisation of menus, zero to minimalistic contact during check-in and checkout and placing QR codes across all hotel areas for easier access by guests. It has also reduced stationery wastage by opting for e-invoicing and emailing for all communication with guests and internal team members.
To minimise use of plastic water bottles, Hyatt Regency Amritsar has stopped using it in public areas, restaurants and banquets. It has instead replaced it with carafes and fresh water glasses. Singh revealed that the hotel plans to set up a water bottling plant on-premise soon to do away with water bottles entirely.
The hotel also ensures that guestroom linen is changed on alternate days or as per guest needs. Not only does this save water wastage and chemical usage during laundry, it also helps prolong the linen’s life to a certain degree.
These are some ways how Hyatt Regency Amritsar continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to sustainable tourism, while making it convenient for guests to ‘go green’.
