Disha Shah wins Marketing Manager of the Year Award

Settling into an unknown city, managing a cluster of four Marriott India hotels and driving revenue along with reputation when the Bengaluru witnessed constant changes in travel regulations was a task. Moreover, days into her new role, the teams were changed, pay cuts were introduced and manning was reduced.

Taking it on the chin, Disha Shah, Senior Marketing & Communications Manager for these properties devised initiatives, including ‘Escape & Unwind’, ‘Staycation by Marriott’, ‘Suite Escapes’ and quarantine packages. These were promoted through OTAs channels, digital
marketing, media coverage, Google listings, etc.

A $462 media spend helped the brands earn 55 room nights and 32 bookings in Q1 2021. It also resulted in the non-qualified segment seeing a 145% YTD hike in room revenue vs 2020. Shah worked on an effective branding strategy by refreshing SEO tags, reviewing SEM plans, optimising content keywords on social media channels, and correlated the offerings with Marriott Bonvoy.
