With the festive season around the corner, Hilton Chennai is curating a baking competition for home bakers in the city. The Bakery Carnival contest will be held on 11th December 2021 and passionate bakers can send in their applications to register for the event by 30th November, 2021. After paying a participation fee of INR 1,999, they will have to take part in an online technical test on 4th December as part of the elimination round.
During this shortlisting session, the test format will comprise 20 questions, with each carrying 1 mark. The questions will be related to basics of bakery and pastry practices.
Hilton Chennai will declare the results of this elimination round on 6th December, 2021 and shortlisted candidates will then move to the final stage of the Bakery Carnival competition on 11th Dec’21. During this event, they will have to prepared one creative pastry dish and one traditional baked dish.
Contestants have to share their menu with the hotel’s team by 7th December, 2021 as Hilton Chennai will organise for all the ingredients required for their respective dishes. A briefing and doubt clarification session will be held by the hotel’s chef on 9th December, 2021, to better prepare the contestants for the final round.
Winners of the Bakery Carnival will win 1 night stay at Hilton Guest Room along with a certificate and trophy. Their winning photo will also be published across all the hotel’s channels as well as trade magazines. Moreover, the winning recipe will be made available for sales at the EST for one month. The revenue generated from the sale of the winning recipe will be donated to a charity.
