Chakraborty takes charge of the Mumbai property after spending four years as general manager at The Leela Kempinski Kovalam Beach, Kerala.

He started his career in 1984 with the Taj group as a food and beverage controller, and later moved to the Oberoi Group, handling sales.

Chakraborty was recently honoured as ‘GM of the Year’ at the Hotelier India 2009 Awards.
