The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is going to host PATA Travel Mart in New Delhi in 2011.

The main aim behind hosting the Mart is to showcase infrastructure development undertaken in Delhi in order to host the Commonwealth Games 2010.

“At the back of the games India bid for [and got] the PATA travel mart to come to Delhi in 2011,” said Arjun Sharma, vice chairman of PATA’s India chapter. “We can showcase Delhi as a new destination – we have a brand new airport, a stunning metro system, and Lutyen’s Delhi is getting a makeover.”

This year, PATA Travel Mart will be organised in Macau from September 14-17 at Venetian Macau-Resort-Hotel. Nawang Rigzin Jora, Tourism Minister, Jammu and Kashmir has reportedly expressed interest in hosting the next PATA Adventure Travel and Responsible Tourism Conference and Mart (ATRTCM) in Srinagar.
