Bar timings won’t increase in Bengaluru

(NULL)

Karnataka Home minister VS Acharya has clearly stated that the state government will not extend the deadline beyond 11.30 pm for bars, restaurants, five star and other major hotels in Bengaluru.

Dr Acharya said he was aware of the statements of his Cabinet colleague, MP Renukacharya, appearing in newspapers, about the need to extend the timings at least of five star hotels and major hotels in major cities beyond midnight.

“These things have to be discussed before a final decision is taken,” Dr Acharya said.

After the blasts, he said the government had reviewed the security situation and it was decided to restrict serving of liquor till 11 pm.

It was also decided that all bars and restaurants should be closed after 11.30 pm. This was in keeping with the growing night crime, law and order problems besides ensuring peace for residents.
