As Schneider Electric sees opportunities galore in the hospitality space in the country, the company has a wide range of products and solutions to help hotels achieve optimum energy efficiency and guest appeal at every touch point.
With heightened security risks and evolving technology, increasing energy costs and environmental awareness, the hotels are constantly seeking to protect bottom line and reduce carbon footprint – while providing a non-forgettable guest experience. It is in this context that efficient solutions, in existing and new properties, that deliver a positive ROI and impact on asset value becomes indispensable to the growth of the hospitality industry in India.
Talking about the unique demand of building management applications for the hospitality industry here, Shrinivas Chebbi, VP-building business, Schneider Electric said, “Technology is moving towards giving customers the best of experiences. And as it is cost-prohibitive, engaging the customer has not happened effectively till now. This is where our technology can fill the void. The company is looking at simultaneously reducing building energy costs and improving building performance. We believe our solutions can help make energy one of the most controllable expenses in a building without sacrificing comfort.”
Hotels by design are non-sustainable, he opined. And especially, with regulatory norms coming in, the existence of non-sustainable hotels will become impossible. The industry needs to think about energy conservation, water energy costs and carbon footprints. This is where the company sees the big opportunity, he added.
Regarding the solutions offered by the company, he pointed out, “The entire lifecycle of the hotel is supported by Schneider Electric with our extensive range of services that include maintenance and upgrading, design, training, in addition to engineering, audits and consulting. Operating costs in hotels are traditionally high – partly due to the environmental and security requirements – and this means increased energy use.
Hotels are complex facilities with large fluctuations in occupancy: reception areas, restaurants, conference rooms, offices, housekeeping, fitness centers and spas all have different requirements.”
Schneider Electric solutions are an active part of the design of the hotel and ensure a level of comfort that fits guest expectations. While guest satisfaction is the goal of the hotel, operating efficiency is a close second.
Schneider Electric’s experience and continuous dialogue with hotel decision makers are the foundation for solutions, from simple standalone applications to fully integrated systems. .
