From a travel advisory startup with marginal business to forging key partnerships: Voyaah's transformative journey

Taking into account the vacuum in the market for a reliable Travel Advisory, Voyaah saw it as an opportunity to commence its journey into the segment.

With the ever-changing dynamics of travel amid Covid, travellers these days are highly concerned about where to travel, how to travel and when to travel, at what budget, which hotels, road transfers etc. Emerging as a one-stop destination to answer all guest queries, Voyaah was materialized in March 2020.

Before Voyaah could spread its wings, it had to halt all operations due to Covid outbreak, like all other companies, to wait and watch what will happen next.

After months of waiting, it was all in the hands of Sharmistha Chakraborty to turn this company into what it was dreamed to be. Once the markets opened and people discovered that India too has a lot to offer, that is when the time turned for Voyaah and it changed from a startup with marginal business to a game changer with being the travel partner with CRED, the blue-eyed company now sponsoring the favourite sport of the country.

Today, Voyaah is a case-study for companies which started just before the pandemic. With domestic travel booming like never before and the average spend increasing in the upper-middle class and HNI segment, it is the best time for Voyaah to offer advisory, teamed with attractive offers from all the leading hotels of the world, listed not only on Cred but also directly.

Corporate alliances have been a game-changer for Voyaah. On this, Sharmistha adds, “Vistara did good to us – right TG, unlike a few other marketplaces, airlines do have entry barriers and it was a breakthrough for us. Getting a TG of frequent flyers and planning their holidays is something Voyaah would always aspire to do. On Vistara today its’ just about staycation but soon we would look at expanding our portfolios with multi-destination holidays and much more.”

“Luxury car companies are yet another aspirational collaborations that we are successfully doing, also is a step forward towards managing the Luxe segment, giving them a staycation with experiences that they otherwise have no access too, fulfilling their aspirations and managing their expectations is something that Voyaah is doing successfully.”

“So far, 14000 families have booked and travelled / are travelling through Voyaah. Numbers have increased multifold, both domestic, even international destinations like Dubai/ Russia, experiences like Northern lights are gathering steam. The Indian traveller is truly evolving, one good thing that came out of the pandemic,” said Sharmistha.

The future has more to offer for the patrons of Voyaah. With the app being a work-in-progress, the website will soon enable travellers to get inspired, take the necessary travel advisory from their in-house travel designers and finally, take the plunge into that long-awaited holiday, without burning a hole in their pocket.
