The 200-year-old company is the final word in chic bathrooms and bathroom fixtures. KOHLER Co. was co-founded in 1873 by Austrian John Michael Kohler and Charles Silberzahn with the purchase of the Sheboygan Union Iron and Steel Foundry from Kohler’s father-in-law, Jacob Vollrath. When it began, it was a company producing cast iron and steel farm implements. A breakthrough came in 1883 when John Michael applied enamel to a cast-iron horse trough to create the company’s first bathtub.
KOHLER’s bath fixtures are now considered the best in the business, with a range of scintillating bathtubs and bathroom fixtures. KOHLER still makes traditional cast iron bathtubs for its connoisseurs. The brand even hosts a design awards called the Kohler Bold Design Awards in India, which celebrates the work of architects and interior designers.
