Brigade Hotel signs ₹1,100 Crore investment in Tamil Nadu

Hospitality business grows 35% YoY as margins expand across India and international portfolios.

Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited (BHVL) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu at the ongoing Tamil Nadu Global Tourism Summit 2026. The MoU, signed in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. K. Stalin committed an investment of ₹1100 crore by BHVL, aimed at significantly bolstering the state’s tourism infrastructure and creating high- value employment opportunities for over 1000 people.

The initiative aligns with the summit’s core objective of bringing together senior policymakers, global investors, and industry leaders to explore and develop new opportunities in the hospitality and leisure sectors.

BHVL’s existing presence in Chennai

Holiday Inn Chennai OMR IT Expressway, BHVL’s first hotel through its subsidiary SRP Hotel Ventures Limited in Chennai which commenced operations in April 2017 with 202 keys.

Expansion plans: over 500 new keys across three properties

The Company will now add over 500 new keys across three properties in Chennai including Courtyard by Marriott at Chennai World Trade Center, Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR and JW Marriott Chennai OMR. Brigade Group had already acquired lands for these projects to create hospitality destinations in Chennai.

Upcoming hotel projects in Chennai

• Courtyard by Marriott at Chennai World Trade Center will offer around 45 thoughtfully designed guestrooms located just 13 km from the Chennai International Airport.

• Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR will be a premier resort with approximately 211 guest rooms.

• JW Marriott Chennai OMR will feature around 250 stylishly appointed guest rooms and suites.
