Nasi and Mee has opened a new restaurant at Nexus Shantiniketan in Whitefield. It is the brand’s sixth outlet in Bengaluru and its 10th overall, marking 10 years since it began operations in 2015. The opening also marks Nasi and Mee’s return to Whitefield after nearly six years.
First outdoor dining space and hawker-inspired murals
The Whitefield outlet is the first Nasi and Mee location to include an outdoor dining area. Indoors, the space features illustrated murals inspired by Southeast Asia’s street markets and hawker culture, drawing from the energy of Chinatown lanes and food streets across Bangkok, Singapore, Hanoi and beyond.

Three mural scenes that bring Southeast Asian streets to life
Three mural scenes define the space—one shows a Chinese shophouse with pots of noodles and broth on the boil, another captures a hawker stall set in a narrow alley, and a third features a woman serving noodles from a worn, familiar counter. Small details like alley cats appear across the artwork, echoing the everyday life of street markets in cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Bangkok.
At the far end, another mural draws from the markets of Penang and nearby food hubs, extending the visual journey across different Southeast Asian streets. Mirrors placed throughout the restaurant widen sightlines and create the impression of open lanes and winding walkways, making the indoors feel more expansive and outward-facing.
Design elements that blur the boundary between indoors and outdoors
Tropical foliage, rattan furniture, and cane-detailed lighting soften the architecture and frame the experience, blurring the boundary between inside and out. The result is a space that celebrates the colour, chaos, and charm of Southeast Asia’s food streets — a place where the everyday magic of hawker culture is brought to life, one mural, one corner, and one shared table at a time.
