“I draw strength from a simple but powerful philosophy: Stay grounded. Stay grateful. Stay growing,” shares Vikram Lalvani, Managing Director & CEO of Sterling Holiday Resorts Limited.

“This philosophy is deeply embedded in Sterling’s core values. From honesty and integrity, I’ve learned that transparency builds unshakeable trust. From being result-oriented, I’ve embraced accountability without politics. As a team player, I’ve understood that egos break, but collaboration builds. I push hard, but never at the cost of the families behind us, reflecting our value of being hardworking with balance. I champion risk, but with prudence. Above all, I never forget to follow the golden rule: Treat others the way you wish to be treated. These aren’t just values on paper — they’ve been my compass through every crossroad.”

Transformation Leader

With over three decades of leadership in hospitality, leisure, and ITeS, Lalvani wants to be remembered not just for expanding Sterling’s footprint, but for nurturing a culture where hospitality leaders persist through challenges without losing heart, innovate without losing direction, and lead without losing humanity. “For me, true leadership is about balancing results with relationships – creating sustainable success while ensuring that every team member, partner, and guest feels seen, respected, and valued,” he maintains.

Culture & Experience

Looking ahead, Lalvani envisions a distinctive path for the industry, one that is “rooted in culture, scaled by experience, and driven by emotion. India’s hospitality future will be shaped by deeply local stories, digitally enabled journeys, and emotionally intelligent service — where technology enhances warmth, not replaces it.”

A mechanical engineer with an MBA and advanced leadership certifications from Wharton, Cornell, and IIMs, he is also Chairman of AIRDA. A passionate traveller and film enthusiast, Lalvani continues to blend work with his passions as he builds Sterling into India’s leading leisure hospitality brand.
