WTA awards Trident Gurgaon as Asia’s leading hotel

The Trident Gurgaon adds yet another feather to its cap by being recognised as Asia’s leading hotel by the prestigious World Travel Awards in London recently.

Kapil Chopra, the hotel’s general manager and senior vice president at Oberoi Hotels and Resorts collected the award at the November 7 ceremony attended by the best in global hospitality.

“We have achieved what we set out to do. This was the goal we were aiming for after being voted as India’s leading hotel. I am certain the success of the hotel would not have been possible without our guests, our travel partners and the support and commitment of my team. I have always believed that a happy team leads to higher levels of guest satisfaction,” said Chopra on receiving the award.

Over 1,75,000 key international travel agents and other travel decision makers cast their vote during the annual poll. Trident Gurgaon, the clear winner, did a RevPAR of US$ 350 on a year-to-date-basis for the year ending March 2009, the highest in India.
