To take forward its theme of inclusivity and diversity, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group has bringing over Chef Chris Tripani from Texas to tour its properties in the country. Chef Trapani is the first transgender chef to appear on the Food Network in the United States. Since his arrival on the culinary scene over a decade ago, he has become very popular and has also been a role model for the rights of the LBGTQIA community across the globe.
A globally celebrated authority in Tex-Mex cuisine, Chef Trapani will participate in a five-city tour, visiting New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Chandigarh. For his visit in Mumbai, Chef Trapani along with The Lalit Food Truck Company’s chefs will present a special hand-crafted menu for connoisseurs who enjoy food truck fare. He will also join in a live cook-off session with The LaLit Mumbai’s executive chef, Parimal Sawant, followed by a meet and greet with media persons. On 18th January 2018, Chef Trapani will address the LGBTQIA family at the hotel’s CU Next Thursday event bringing to life his special Food Truck menu.
Talking about bringing Chef Trapani to the country, Keshav Suri, executive director, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, said, “I am immensely pleased with Chef Chris joining us in our initiative to continuously support the marginalised communities. I want to escalate the message of pure love and inclusivity that our Group stands for.” In 2017, Suri had organised an awareness event for acid attack survivors, a fashion show for transgender models, meet up events for people with special abilities and made drag shows popular in the country.
