Option 1
Nepal
The tour takes us first to the flat lands of Nepal. After a rafting run down the Trishuli River, you drive to Chitwan National Park. Chitwan offers a great wildlife experience. Pokhara is the starting point of the trek. From here, a short four-hour trek to Dhampus brings you to magnificent views of Himalayan peaks of Annapurna, Machhapuchhare, Hiunchuli and many more.
The package
Cost: Up to Rs 58,000 per person for a group of 3-5 people.
Cost includes: Accommodation on a twin sharing basis, two nights accommodation in Kathmandu, one night in Kurintar Riverside Spring Resort on full board basis, two nights B&B accommodation in Pokhra, two nights package at the Jungle Wildlife Resort in Royal Chitwan National Park inclusive of accommodation in lodge with attached bathroom, one night accommodation in Dhampus on full board basis.
All transfers in a private AC vehicle accompanied by professional English speaking guide/local representative from Nepal. Monuments charges, park entrance fees, elephant safari, jungle activities such as nature walk, jungle trekking, canoe safari, porterage tax at airports on arrivals and departures will also be included.
Cost excludes: International airfare and airport tax charges, service tax, lunch and dinner at Kathmandu and Pokhara at the hotel, food during travel between two destinations, bar bills, laundry, telephone calls, extra mileage, personal gratuities as tips to guides, drivers and porters, insurance, cost incurred because of flight cancellations, delays, natural calamities.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Early morning sightseeing in Kathmandu and drive to Kurintar (4hours).
Day 3: Rafting from Khataudi to Mungling in the Trishuli River (5 hours) and drive to Chitwan National Park (3 hours). Meet naturalists, cross the river on a small ferry and get transferred by Land Rovers/canoes/elephants to the jungle lodge inside the Chitwan National Park. Nepali cuisine.
Day 4: Full-day jungle activities, including an elephant ride or a jungle walk at Royal Chitwan National Park, a habitat for rhinos and tigers. Visit elephant stables. Dinner and overnight at Jungle lodge.
Day 5: Drive from Chitwan to scenic Pokhara (4 to 5 hours), followed by sightseeing and sunset boat ride at Phewa Lake.
Day 6: Drive from Pokhara to Phedi (20mins) and trek to Dhampus (1,700m/5,578ft; four hours). Overnight stay at Dhampus.
Day 7: Trek down to Kande (four hours) and Drive back to Pokhara (1.5 hours). Stay overnight at hotel.
Day 8: Drive back from Pokhara to Kathmandu (5 to 6 hours). Shopping and overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 9: Departure from Kathmandu.
Option 2
Kullu Valley
Known as the ‘Valley of Gods’, Kullu and Manali offer spectacular views of the snow capped peaks and is a popular base for trekking, mountaineering and skiing.
The package
The duration of the tour is eight nights, nine days (ex-Delhi). The trek is two nights and three days. Accommodation includes four nights at a hotel, two nights camping and two bus nights. All meals are included.
Travel includes overnight journey from Delhi to Manali and back by an AC Volvo coach. An experienced escort along with a local guide will lead the tour. The tour involves an initial stay in a hotel situated in the village of Solang, bordered by the Pir Panjal and the Dauladhaar mountain ranges. Solang is 13km from Manali.
Acclimatisation walks will be followed by a leisurely trek or cycling deep into the valley to the picturesque campsite at Dhundi for a two-night stay in tents on the banks of river Beas. There could be a trek up to the source of the river Beas – Beaskund. Activities include rappelling, rafting and zorbing.
Cost per person: Ex-Delhi. Rs16,150. A third person sharing a room: Rs11,850.
Cost includes: Accommodation in Salong on twin-sharing basis with all meals included; on the trek, in small camping tents on twin/triple sharing basis including all meals. Travel from New Delhi to Manali and back by HPTDC AC Volvo coach; one tour escort from Countryside Outdoor Programmes; local guides; rappelling, rafting; equipment required for rafting like life jackets and helmets.
