Mumbai’s Taj, Trident was on Headley’s list

Investigating agencies believe that David Headley could have possibly played a key role in the 26/11 terror attacks. As a visa clearing agent, Headley had the perfect alibi to meet all types of people. His background as an American businessman helped him elude any profile-based scanning by intelligence agencies, sources said in report in the Times of India newspaper.

It is suspected that Headley not only gathered information about the targets from agents posing as clients, but he also checked it out first-hand by visiting the two Mumbai hotels, Trident and Taj, sources said.

The way the terrorists entered Taj Mahal hotel from the rear end, quickly moved to the heritage wing of the hotel and took positions, hinted at a detailed study of the hotel, sources pointed out.
