HPTDC looking for investors for its five-star plan

Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) is considering an ambitious plan to open five-star hotels across the state and will turn to private companies to invest in the effort.

Possible locations include Shimla, Manali, Chail and Kasauli. While the HPTDC has already been given a nod by the state government, the details of building these hotels are likely to be further discussed at an HPTDC board meeting sometime soon. This is a first for the government agency which is striving hard to improve its tourism revenue.

HPTDC presently has over 50 hotels across the state, most of which are in the mid-market and low budget segments.
