Dusit hires veteran to fuel expansion

Thailand-based Dusit group of hotels which has plans for opening six hotels in India through the Bird group is also planning expansion preparing for expansion in China, the Middle East and Europe.A Bangkok daily has reported that Angelini was hired to support the Dusit group’s expansion plans in international markets.

Angelini has 16 years of experience with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.

Dusit plans for three hotels in the Middle East: the Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi, the Dusit Thani Dilmunia Bahrain and the Dusit Thani Jeddah. Their first hotel in China will be the Dusit Thani Sanya scheduled for its launch in 2012.

In India of course, Dusit has plans for two Delhi properties, one in Jaipur, one in Rishikesh and one in Goa.

Under Angelini, Dusit’s marketing strategy will focus on online channels for promotion and distribution. This week, Dusit is to launch a website suited to mobile phones and add Arabic to its language choices.
