Alankaram, an Indian luxury furniture maker specialising in creating handmade contemporary pieces, has collaborated with designer and artist Saheba Singh who leads home decor and textiles brand, Kinaray. The design partnership features an exclusive line of upholstery fabrics that stays loyal to the Indianised designs that Alankaram is known for.
“These upholstery fabrics are a marriage between skilful craftsmanship and exquisite artistry. They bring together the best of both the brands—the playful and evocative visual narratives of Kinaray and the functionally and aesthetically rich furniture-making of Alankaram,” says Architect Anupriya Sahu, Chief Designer and Co-Founder of Alankaram.
The fusion of inspirations from Saheba Singh-led Kinaray creates an elegant canvas for Alankaran’s timeless wooden furniture with a traditional aesthetic. By incorporating a modern mix of classic motifs, scenes, and emblems into the collection, the collaboration aims to inject a touch of whimsy and wonder through beautifully upholstered accent chairs, day beds, rocking chairs, and more. The fabrics are available in various designs and can be used to adorn contemporary furniture pieces from Alankaram.
