in the wilderness of jungles at Panna, Bandhavgarh, Kanha, Satpura, Pench and Tadoba, since its inception has won several accolades for its excellence in responsible eco-tourism, commitment to green architecture, experienced naturalists, and its pioneering mobile safari initiative.

The brand bagged ‘Silver’ award of the prestigious Outlook Indian Responsible Tourism Award, under its category – Sustainable Leadership: Hotels and Resorts. It is an initiative by Outlook to celebrate Indian brands spearheading sustainable, green and eco-friendly responsible tourism. The award lends its support to planet-friendly travel companies, hotels and homestays by highlighting their wonderful journeys. Nestled in the unbridled wilderness of Tadoba, Waghoba Eco Lodge, the newest lodge by Pugdundee Safaris managed to impress the jury by raising the bar and setting a new standard for sustainable construction, eco-friendliness and conscious luxury. The cottages at Waghoba Eco Lodge have been crafted by drawing inspiration from the very best of eco-construction. Sustainability is ingrained in each aspect of its construction, and each cottage has been built meticulously with handmade Adobe bricks, local stone and Guna vault roofs.

In order to reduce its carbon footprint, the lodge sources its supplies locally and seek support from local craftsmen, masons, farmers, suppliers and vendors for their everyday requirements.

In another attempt to introduce greener experiences across its lodges, Waghoba Eco Lodge houses a north-east-facing wildlife photography hide ‘The Lake Hide’ overlooking a small, all-season water body. The idea behind this hide is to create a conducive environment for both, the subjects to be photographed and for the photographer while promoting non vehicular, low impact, greener and sustainable experiences for guests.
