Vivanta Aurangabad installs four EV charging stations

This project is in line with IHCL’s commitment to meet the growing requirements of its environmentally-conscious customers

Transport is a fundamental requirement of modern life, but the traditional combustion engine is quickly becoming outdated. Petrol or diesel vehicles are highly polluting and are being quickly replaced by fully electric vehicles. Fully electric vehicles (EV) have zero tailpipe emissions and are much better for the environment. Electric Vehicles industry is growing at an unprecedented rate of 40% year over year growth. Looking at the numbers, we’re sure that the next decade will see a major transition from fuel-powered mills to completely electric vehicles. Thus, the electric vehicle revolution has begun, wherein we are seeing a major paradigm shift across the globe as an increasing number of people are gravitating towards alternative or less energy-intensive options of transport. The major contribution of EVs is towards improving the air quality in the cities.

Speaking about this initiative Mr. Chakraborty said, the installation of the EV charging points is in line with our focus on Environmental Stewardship, which is one of the key pillars of Paathya. These EV charging points, in collaboration with Tata Power, are present across various Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta, Ginger, and amã Stays & Trails properties across the country.

IHCL, has a long-term vision of driving responsible tourism, has announced its sustainability commitments for the year 2030 under Paathya. Paathya framework aims at defining industry- leading practices and going much beyond the norm, with its six clearly defined areas of focus such as –PROGRESS, PRESERVE, PRUDENT, PROMISE, PROMOTE and PARTNER. Thus, aligning with above areas, we are promoting towards creating a cleaner, greener and sustainable eco-system which emphasis on areas like, use of clean energy, conserving water, managing waste and avoiding single use plastic.

Amongst them, Vivanta Aurangabad is one of the unit in Maharashtra which has installed total four EV stations in two different parking areas. The inauguration ceremony of EV stations was carried out by Chief Engineer Parmeshwar Kopnar and Executive House Keeper Bhavna Futane in the presence of Cluster General Manager Rajesh Chakraborty and team of Vivanta Aurangabad. The charging stations are open to all the Guests as well as to public allowing them to experience reliable and worry-free facilities while discovering breath-taking destinations across the country. Now, with this initiative, driving vacations and reaching destinations in electric vehicles will now be even more accessible for everyone. And moving ahead, we do promise that we will continue to pioneer sustainable practices in its pursuit of excellence and create benchmarks in the tourism industry.

Vivanta Aurangabad under the same umbrella joins hands with the same go green initiative “Paathya” and inaugurates four end-to-end Charging Stations for the EVs owned by guests and employees. The facility can be availed at the Main entrance of the hotel and a designated parking slot for the EV users.

The EV Charging facility for the visiting customers will be available in two different locations at the hotel. EV customers now can charge their vehicles in their own comfort. This project is in line with IHCL’s commitment to meet the growing requirements of its environmentally-conscious customers.
