Suresh Talera of Pune’s Talera Group of Hotels is tipped to take over as HRAWI’s next president. As reported earlier, the HRAWI AGM will take place on September 24 in Mumbai.
“Talera is the senior most of HRAWI’s office bearers and thus in line to take over the presidency,” said SP Jain, incumbent HRAWI president.
However, Talera may be the first HRAWI president to benefit from election reforms the association is contemplating. The president’s tenure which was changed from four to one year is likely to be revised to a two year term.
“I was one of the chief architects of changing this rule to one year. However, continuity suffers as relations with the government have to restart all over again. We are looking to change this, perhaps not in this AGM, but by the next,” said Jain.
Jain, who is the Pride Group chairman, had a one year term.
