All set to celebrate its ninth anniversary, ITC Grand Chola has shared nine features that underscore the hotel’s decade-long commitment to Responsible Luxury. ITC Grand Chola was rated the world’s largest ‘LEED Platinum’ certified hotel during inception. It is one of the largest hotel in India built on more than 14,870 m2 and is the first 600 key super-premium integrated luxury hotel complex in Tamil Nadu.

It boasts of the largest banqueting and convention facilities in a hotel in Tamil Nadu, including 2465 m2 of pillarless ballroom. This facility has made Chennai one of the convention capitals of the world, the hotel’s officials stated.

ITC Grand Chola has 10 F&B outlets, including the company’s signature Peshawri and Pan Asian culinary brands. It is home to Royal Vega, a vegetarian restaurant that showcases the grand cuisine from the royal kitchens of India.

ITC Grand Chola is amongst the prominent employers in the city. At the time of its construction, more than 10000 artisans were employed with the property.

Recently, the property implemented the Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG) technology to produce drinking water locally with renewable wind energy. In addition to efficient use of recycled water, most of its electrical energy requirements met through renewable energy sources – windfarms. Other green practices include the in-house bottling unit – SunyaAqua; Zero-mile water, and an avoidance of single-use plastic.
