The first-ever Calcutta Gourmet Club, the brainchild of Dr. Suborno Bose, IIHM’s founder, is set to entice the food connoisseurs in Kolkata. The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat and The House of Johnnie Walker hosted the ceremonial evening for the launch of the ‘Calcutta Gourmet Club’. It was hosted by Dr. Bose and Diageo Brand Ambassador’s Shantanu Sengupta on 26th November, 2021 at the 32 The Helipad Lounge giving attendees a panoramic view of the city.
The idea behind the club is to connect the food epicureans who are well-versed with the food trends and are keen to learn about the global cuisines and their history. The Calcutta Gourmet Club will bring to Kolkata the culinary experts from across the world and the country where the chefs would curate the best of cuisines for the exclusive 25 members of the Calcutta Gourmet Club.
During the event, Chef Vivek Kalia, Executive Chef of The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat and Chef Clement, Former Executive Chef Hyatt Regency Kolkata got together to toss up a lavish 5-course spread, which complimented and paired up perfectly with the signature alcoholic beverages. The menu also boasted an array of signature items by Chef Gaurav Verma and sinful liquor-infused desserts mindfully crafted by Chef Prasenjit Jana of The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat.
