FondArt Bakehouse (FAB), Patisserie and Boulangerie has opened its doors to denizens of Lucknow. It specialises in custom cakes for all occasions along with sinful delights comprising an array of freshly baked bread varieties, pastries, cupcakes, truffles, croissants, macroons, eclairs and donuts. It will also offer a several options for sandwiches, quiches and its signature croissants.
FAB is the brainchild of Nidhi Verma and Raag Verma, who have been associated with the luxury hospitality industry for nearly two decades. Their culinary masterpieces will be created by Pastry Chef Avijit Ghosh, who has launched patisseries in several upscale hotels including The Oberoi and The Leela. He was also the brand ambassador for various imported chocolate brands and is on advisory board of renowned bakery schools.
FAB’s local team will be spearheaded by Chef Rajkumar Dass, who was trained by Chef Avijit Ghosh and has also worked at leading luxury properties in India. Chef Dass will handcraft delicacies at the outlet from scratch along with his team, using fresh quality ingredients.
The patisserie’s name is inspired from its signature offering — fondant cakes. These specialised playdough-like sugar paste can be rolled and draped over a sculpted cake to give it a designer shape and texture. These cakes can be refrigerated and can remain fresh for days, which is what makes them unique.
According to co-founder Nidhi Verma, FAB is positioned as Lucknow’s first luxury and premium patisserie and boulangerie catering to the city’s up-market and mid-segment clientele.
“Our innovative, premium quality products will be one of its kind in Lucknow. The bakery will also accommodate private parties and offer cake and cupcake decorating classes to the local community,” she added.
She revealed that FAB’s centralised Kitchen is being set up in Gomti Nagar, which is centrally located, making it the perfect spot for future expansions. In the near future, the bakery plans to set up a kiosk inside the Lucknow Golf Club to cater to the high-profile guests of this elite institution.
