In a bid to empower its lady employees to better protect themselves and safeguard against any untoward mishaps, The Grand New Delhi recently conducted some self-defense training sessions for them. The hotel has a large number of ladies on its staff strength and this step was undertaken out of concern and alarm toward the rising rate of crime against women in the capital city. About 40 team members attended the training, which was organised by Brigadier (retd) JS Soin and Naresh Meena, both from Scimitar Solutions, Jaipur. While the former is a retired army officer with a degree in defence studies and a post graduate diploma in human rights, Meena is a martial arts black belt holder.
